Live Rider Tracking Privacy Notice

Information about GPS data collection during events.

What we collect

During an event, the Traccar Client app on your phone sends: GPS location, time, speed, direction, altitude, GPS accuracy and device battery level. The system records these together with your rider number and device identifier.

Purpose

This data is used for event operations: rider progress monitoring, route review, assistance coordination, post-event reports and participant safety.

Who can see your data

Organiser / administrator: full real-time position, name, phone and emergency contact.
Registered participants: real-time map with rider number and status — no phone numbers or emergency contacts.
General public: delayed map (usually 3 minutes) with rider number only.

Data retention

Raw GPS history is kept for the event's retention period (usually 30 days) and then deleted automatically. Summary event reports may be kept longer.

Important

GPS works without internet coverage, but live updates cannot reach the server without mobile data. LiveTrack is an operational aid, not a satellite rescue system. Always follow the event's marshal, sweeper and emergency procedures.
